Japan's animated mobile mail
Wireless Watch Japan has a short video of Vodafone Japan's "fun" new email application called "Deru moji." Basically, the mail software interprets some parts of the text and displays appropriate pop-up animations.
In the clip, at around 43 seconds in for example, the Japanese character for "snow" appears in the text, accompanied by a flying snowman. It's all very cutesy, but that's exactly the kind of add-on that can really take off in Japan.
