You thought you had put the little bugger down for good, didn’t you? Now look, he’s gone and recharged himself. Hitachi Maxell, in its inscrutable corporate wisdom, has teamed up with Bandai to bring you the Tamagotchi button battery.
This isn’t the first time Bandai has tried to resurrect T-chan, although celebrating the critter’s 10th anniversary on T-shirts was a bit prosaic, to say the least. This time around, there will only be 30,000 CR2032 Tamagotchi button bats produced, and they’ll be on sale August 10. We don’t know the price yet.

Yoshi’s take: I bet Maxell is keener on this tie-up than Bandai. My Tamagotchi may be dead and buried, but the kiddies still love ‘em.
