Bandai’s latest feeble attempt to revive its gaming fortunes at least has a little more humor than the cheap tat it usually peddles.
The ¥2,499 ($27) Onna Dameshi – it means something like ‘Woman Test’ – is a small, plastic handheld with a monochrome LCD that displays a Tamagotchi-like game of sorts.
This time, instead of feeding virtual pets, the game feeds the appetite of women hungry to learn what’s on the minds of their menfolk.
To that end, it has responses culled by Bandai from a survey of 1,000 single chaps across Japan on matters as diverse as fishing, romance and family.
The idea is that players get to hone their dating skills and, thus, improve their chances of getting lai… er, a husband.
