Hitachi Maxell recharges vintage batteries

At DWT, we strive to keep you up-to-date with the latest news on tomorrow’s batteries, but here’s something from the past. Hitachi Maxell have revived the packaging of Japan’s first alkali batteries from 40 years ago.

A set of 14 costs ¥880, an 18-pack goes for ¥1,150, and there’s also a set of 16. Hey, where’s the six-pack? Let’s hope only the packaging, not the innards, is 40 years old.
