We don’t often cover new TV sets, but I couldn’t help noticing the latest round of Viera LCDs, due to hit shops here in July.
Aside from the usual Viera qualities, the 37-inch TH-L37R2B and 32-inch TH-L32R2B pack in a 320GB hard drive each, a Blu-ray recorder and even support for onscreen Skype chats.
Being bereft of a camera, the Vieras require a USB model from Panasonic to get the full Skype goodness flowing, of course.
The smaller model costs ¥190,000, while the larger should go for around ¥240,000 – pretty decent value, particularly if you bought a lesser-specced Sharp for a fair bit more just a year ago, as I did.
Although the new Vieras are Japan-only for now, one can always still shop for TVs that actually are available overseas via our friends at iGadget Life.
