Now, Japan’s desktop PCs set selves on fire too

060817_sony.JPG

Hard as it is to believe, Japan has been hit by yet another round of computers self immolating — this time it’s the desktop variety that are cashing in their chips.

Several thousand of NEC’s Valuestar PCs apparently have faulty power supplies that cause them to overheat and go up in smoke.

Naturally, good old NEC is fixing the problem post haste, so never worry. Besides, it’s all Japan only and only two of the boxes have offed themselves anyway.
