Pekoppa, the listening plant nods while you unload

This isn’t entirely new, but it’s worth bringing you a snippet on Sega Toys’ Pekoppa – a tiny pot plant that apparently nods in agreement when anyone talks to it.

The ¥2,310 ($26) toy isn’t actually a real plant; instead it uses wires in the stem to move the head in a nodding fashion when it picks up noise of any kind.

With several nodding styles (really?), Pekoppa is supposed to be capable of giving feedback to users desperate for some kind of conversation.

So, “Should I invade Poland?” and “Is it wrong to covet my neighbor’s ass?” should get pretty much the same responses as the idiot questions in Sega’s demo videos (halfway down the page on the right).

Warning: don’t watch them if you’re feeling a little down - they’ll make it worse.
