Also at KES, Samsung finally unveiled its smooth-looking new PMP, the YM-PD1, and we were allowed a quick twiddle with it. Although the above shot doesn’t show its best side, the 4in screen is actually pretty crisp and gives the PSP a run for its money.
Even more impressive is the range of file formats supported: DivX, XviD, MPEG4, WMV, AVI, MP3, OGG, ASF, WMA, JPEG and BMP. Throw in the ability to record TV to the 20Gb/30Gb hard drive as well as an SDIO slot and you have a serious contender for the PMP heavyweight crown. The 20Gb model will come in at around $380, with the 30Gb unit about $100 more. Expect to see these hit the streets of Seoul next January.
