Here in Japan Evergreen has a knack for making really simple products that are cheap yet strangely desirable. Its latest sure-fire hit is a pair of speakers in a plastic egg casing with a USB hub and a memory card reader built in.
The ¥4,980 DN-USP301 speakers draw juice from a USB port, offer 4W total output, add two USB 2.0 ports and like CF, SD and Memory Sticks. What more could you want for $40, eh?

Yoshi’s take: I can’t agree that these are all that cool; 2W per channel isn’t exactly hi-fi. I’d ignore the hub and card reader and spend maybe twice the money on proper speakers.
