Bandai revives pussy power

It’s either an act inspired brilliance or just purely scraping the barrel by Bandai, but it has revived one of the most annoying toys of the last century, the Neko Nyanbou or Kitty Cat Meow Pole. Nyan nyan is the Japanese onomatopoeia for “meow,” BTW.

The Neko Nyanbou is basically a plastic, vaguely phallic, rendition of a cat’s leg with a paw, coated lovingly in glorious nylon fur. The trick is this;  you can make the leg bend and the paw move by pressing a lever at the end of the stump that would have been connected to the kitty’s shoulder.

Even if you can’t read Japanese, just fiddling about with the site is quite fun. The Nyanbou is on on sale for ¥900 in mid-April.
