Challenger’s buff Tank brand AV/photo/HDD player

Challenger is set to come out with a robust box of tricks in the form of the Movie Tank III, which will take just about everything you throw at it, digitally speaking.

This veritable tank of audio-visual goodness has an E-IDE connector for a 3.5in HDD (not included) inside and can decode WMV9 at full 1,920 x 1,080-dot resolution. But it doesn’t mind 1080i/720p or, forgive us, 480p/480i, JPEG, PNG and BMP picture files, MP3, WMA, PCM, AAC and OGG. It has two USB 2.0 ports and a stereo mini jack. The 128 x 207 x 46.8mm, 500g Movie Tank III will cost ¥23,800 when it goes on sale at the end of the month. More detailed specs can be found in the gloriously readable translation below.
