In the m:robe MR-F10, Olympus has unleashed yet another flash-based DAP on a rapidly tiring public, although this one appears to bring a little extra to the party by avoiding the crummy interface/design/feature-set pitfalls that competitors have dived headfirst into.
Our new matinee idol has, thankfully, lost the fiddly controls Olympus stuck on its previous players, but has kept a decent screen, this time in the form of a 65,000-color OLED. Capacity, at 1Gb or 512Mb, is par for the course, but support for MP3, WMA, and Ogg is spiffy. Moreover, direct MP3 encoding and a voice mic make the ¥17,000/22,000 player worth a look. We can live without an FM tuner.
