E3 ‘06: PS3 to hit Japan first on Nov. 11

Full details later on the PS3 secrets unveiled today at the Sony press conference here at E3 but we just heard from Sony in Japan that the new console will launch there before it drops anywhere else.

The 20GB model will be available to buy in Japan on November 11, which is almost a week ahead of the rest of the world. The ¥62,790 price tag is more than we’d been led to believe but we’re still going to be in line for one six months hence. More from E3 later.
