
Everybody knows the 3G iPhone will hit Japan later this year on the crap-tastic Softbank network, but I don’t believe anyone else was able to get NTT DoCoMo to admit it had been in the race too.
Personally, when I spoke to Big D’s Shuichiro Ichikoshi (one of the industry’s genuine nice guys) late yesterday evening about the Softbank/Apple deal, it was pretty clear he had plenty on his mind. However, I didn’t expect him to admit what he did - that DoCoMo wanted what it ultimately could not have, the iPhone.
