Toshiba’s world’s first HD DVD laptop computer has finally been given a launch date, months after we first saw it at CES. Mid-May will see the debut of the Qosmio G30/697HS for around ¥400,000.
Aside from the HD DVD-ROM drive that doubles as a DVD+/-R DL and DVD-RAM burner, there are two TV tuners (one digital, one analog), an HDMI output and a full-HD capable 17in 1,920 x 1,200 LCD.
Lastly, the CPU is a T2500 Core Duo @ 2GHz and there’s a full gig of RAM onboard the 4.8kg beast.
