
A company called Shelly is selling Hello Kitty RFID card protection. You just cover your card, for example a Suica, with the orifice-challenged feline, and say bye-bye to skimming attacks.
No, the claws are not meant to scratch the eyes out of Japan’s hordes of hackers; the reality is more prosaic. The HK-branded Shelly card disables RFID communications. Just remember to de-Kitty your Suica if you want it to work. The protectors cost ¥1,260-¥1,980 each, or a set of four for ¥5,040.
