We saw a similar in-car FM transmitter from Logitec just a month ago but the company has already updated its MP3/WMA-playing line by adding some useful extras.
The ¥8,980 LAT-FM301U builds on its predecessor by adding a remote for a spot of back-seat driver irritating and the ability to navigate through folders on whatever source happens to be connected to it, either through the line-in socket or the on-board USB port.
Flash drives up to a maximum of 8GB are recognized and the USB port will, of course, charge up an iPod even while playing its contents. Thoughtfully, Logitec has even included a socket on the side of the unit for charging your phone.
Yoshi’s take: Almost makes me want to buy a car.
