TOKYOPOP has been bringing Japanese manga to American readers for years and has recently introduced Original English Language (OEL) manga created for the West.  Of those fine tomes, DWT is proud to bring you one of the best — Afterlife, written by Stormcrow Hayes and illustrated by Rob Steen.

As you’ll see if you check out the ad down there on the bottom right, Afterlife tells the story of Thaddeus and Mercutio, two Guardians trying to protect the billions of denizens (i.e. anyone who ever lived) from the horrors in the next world.

Steen also illustrated the Flanimals books by Ricky Gervais (that British guy who did The Office).  This is Hayes’ first graphic novel, but he’s also written The Deal, a thriller starring Penelope Ann Miller and Dean Stockwell, so these guys know their onions.
