Meet Neebo, Japan’s newest robot toy
August 11th, 2006

Neebo from Robot Force is a sort-of robot, sort-of toy that is sort-of stylish and will no doubt appeal to some.

At 70 x 160 x 115mm and 300g, the bot is a bit more manageable than Bandai’s recently announced Gundam effort, and it doesn’t suffer from a plentitude of crappy plastic parts, either. On the other hand, we can’t quite figure out — apart from the fact that it’s cool in a Gary Larson/Forbidden Planet kind of way — why anyone would want to shell out ¥19,800 for the thing when it goes on sale in September. This one’s all Mork and no Mindy.

Yoshi’s take: That bot may be weak, but poking around Robot Force’s website is loads of fun!
