Mobile phone model madness

Mobile phone accessories are a pretty serious business in Japan. Street kiddies vie with each other to see who has the most (and most ridiculous) appendages, while corporate types just love to hang their swords from long, logo-emblazoned straps.

Enter Maitan, whose Mobile Figure Collection offers miniature recreations of about a half dozen Foma phones, which you can dangle off the real thing. (There’s also a “secret item” on the web page that doesn’t load when you click on it, so it’ll have to remain under its blanket of Kremlinesque security for now.) The diminutive ersatz keitai sell for ¥294 each.
