Not lost in translation with new Seiko dictionary

The near-universal ability of Japanese people to mangle spoken English persists despite the best efforts of the nation’s storied electronics industry, which habitually churns out increasingly sophisticated electronic dictionaries.

The latest from Seiko Instruments, the SR-ME7200, is no exception. It’s crammed with zillions of words and dictionaries, has earphones, is light and easy at 110.7 x 83.5 x 12-22.5mm and 172g and has a passable 320 x 240 dot LED backlit monochrome FSTN screen. On sale on September 1 for a rather pricy ¥45,000.

Yoshi’s take: Until devices like this take a couple quantum leaps forward, I’ll stick with the gimmicky fun of my PSP Talkman.
