Elecom’s password-protected MF-AU2 USB key frees us from worrying about the promiscuous use of data by light-fingered bandits lurking behind the cubicle divider. You know the type.

After inserting the key, a “USB DISK Pro Security App” window pops up and asks for an open-sesame. Which is great, if you don’t store that new password in the USB…

Apart from that, the secure-ish MF-AU2 line starts at 128Mb and tops out at 1Gb, and it plays nice with Win XP/Me and 2000 SP3. The series goes on sale in Japan about now.
