
Let’s face it: it’s a tough time to be a brewer in Japan. With the shochu craze showing no signs of abating, beer companies have to get with the times. Toward that end, major brewery Sapporo has called on Oki Electric to upgrade its corporate telephony. Oki’s centrex system, dubbed the IP Convergence Server SS9100, will link 43 Sapporo offices across Japan by 2007, for a projected savings of ¥100 million. We’ll drink to that.
