Sharp high-contrast HD DLP coming in October

Sharp has a bright and powerful HD DLP that will appeal to those who enjoy top-end gear. And if you get your kicks from high native contrast, you’re in for a treat.

That’s because the 1,920 x 1,080-dot, 1,000-lumen XV-Z21000 sports a high-contrast mode of 12,000:1. At 9.5kg and 475 x 410.2 x 172.5mm, though, it’s a pretty hefty chunk of hardware. The XV-Z21000 is due at the beginning of October; expect to pay more than a million yen.

Yoshi’s take: 12,000:1!  But at 20-plus pounds, I’m glad I don’t have to lug it to the conference room. Makes you appreciate this DLP a bit more…
