Sharp lashes out with new Aquos LCD TV lineup

With LCD TV prices plunging, Sharp faces increased competition for its flagship Aquos tellies. Its answer is to keep cranking them out, with nine (20-37in) G series models debuting September 1.

Prices have yet to be announced, but it looks as if the HD 37in LC-37GX1W (speakers in the belly of this beast) and the side-mounted-speaker LC-37GX2W models will start off at ¥380,000. The TVs have HDMI/i.LINK capability with simplified, dial-equipped remote controllers, some sense to their endless racks of menus and push-for-action buttons.
