Sony’s miniDV tapes stretch to 85 minutes now

Sony has just changed the world of miniDV cassetes by releasing the first ever 85-minute tape, thereby adding 20 minutes or so to the amount of HDV high-def video that can be captured before swapping tapes.

The DVM85HD will be on sale from mid-September for around ¥1,500 apiece.
