Something bugging you about your brilliant new HD DVD player? Bit noisy in there? Toshiba just announced that it’s releasing an upgrade for the HD-XA1, the world’s first commercial HD DVD player. We actually talked about this before.

Version 1.4 is to overcome noise that was appearing in menu screens when monitors were jacked into HDMI. The upgrade, or dare we say patch, is downloadable from Toshiba or via a CD-ROM, which arrives about a week after you order one from here.
