XGA screen-compatible mini DLP from Elmo
July 12th, 2006

It’s bright, it’s fine, it’s almost good-looking. It’s the EDP-XD205R mini-DLP data projector from Elmo.

This 261 x 218 x 102mm, 2.4kg projector can belt out a 40in image from 1.3m away. As far as the big picture is concerned, it’s very big — to a maximum size of 300in, which makes Panasonic’s 103in plasmas seem positively puny by comparison. All this is courtesy of a 205W mercury lamp that’s capable of 2,000 lumens. The EDP-XD205R costs ¥312,900 and goes on sale one week from today.
