Looks like the claws are out in the HD DVD Vs Blu-ray showdown. After Wednesday’s announcement of Microsoft and Intel’s support for HD DVD, the Blu-ray Disc Association has hit back, claiming the opposing camp’s claims are riddled with inaccuracies.

One of the most predictable announcements of the month came today in Tokyo when the HD DVD Promotion Group stood up to welcome Microsoft and Intel aboard as full members. We’re not about to predict that this will make a whole heap of difference when it comes to the battle with Blu-ray, but it certainly makes things a little more interesting with big-hitters like those two forming their alliances.
