Maycom’s newest PMP is the M-bird XZ-22, a 65g player with up to 2Gb of flash memory inside and a 2.2in LCD. It handles MP3, WMA and OGG, has an FM tuner and supports USB 2.0 OTG.

Those excellent folks at Clarion have added iPod video-playing capability to their latest HDD car navi consoles/entertainment systems. Among a bunch of new models, the MAX960HD and MAX860HD will have the video playback function, although for some reason the cable that plugs the ‘pod into the Clarion universe won’t be out until August.

Next month will see the release of a video recorder designed specifically to get content into shape for watching on Sony’s PSP. The MSVR-A10 encodes from either of two inputs into MPEG-4 at varying bitrates, allowing up to 8.5 hours on a 2Gb MS Pro Duo (that’s at 384kbps).

Hitachi is dishing up a new line of four WOOO camcorders that use DVDs for storage. The DZ-GX3300 S or B come with a 3.31-megapixel CCD, with the S version on sale at the end of Feb. and the B model out in the middle of March.
